From January 4th to 8th, Hunan Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau formed an inspection team and went to Yueyang, Changde, and Yiyang 3 cities to inspect the production of 8 chemical pulp and paper companies ordered to stop production in the first phase of Dongting Lake District. The inspection results show that the first phase of the closure of the 3 cities papermaking enterprises has basically completed. Next, the three cities will shut down 234 companies that have exceeded the standard sewage and papermaking standards by March 31, including 47 in Yueyang, 57 in Changde and 130 in Yiyang.
According to the "pollution remediation work plan for dongting lake papermaking enterprises" introduced by the Hunan provincial government last year, eight of the 101 papermaking enterprises in yueyang, yiyang and changde cities will be shut down. The three municipal governments all attached great importance to this and made careful deployment. The related work has basically been completed. According to the situation of on-site inspection, the eight chemical pulp and paper companies that ordered the suspension of production have now completed the complete shutdown or the chemical pulp production line has been shut down.
On the basis of the first phase of the provincial government's request for eight chemical pulp and paper companies to be ordered to stop production, Changde and Yiyang City also added pressure to the first batch of suspension notices to 15 and 65 papermaking companies in the area.
